Last year the release of both the PS5 and XBOX X/S pushed me to the realization “that it was time to pivot”, and get a new gaming PC. I really don’t see the point in spending so much money on a dedicated video game system right now. I’ve seen a lot of fantastic gaming PC concepts, ranging from dedicated gaming spaces to complete setups. A new workstation may also be used for increased efficiency (e.g., for remote work, education, etc.). Yes, really! Check out my gaming basement idea pins on Pinterest.

Apple – Look At All The Colours

So what’s the problem now? Yesterday, at Apple’s Virtual Event, the world was introduced to the new iMac, AirTags, iPad Pro’s and more. You’d think it would have been a “who cares” event in my household. But hold on, what did Apple do? They introduced colours. Well that changes everything now. No one cares about my desire to get a Gaming PC. So what did I hear from my kids?

“They are so pretty Dad!”
“We have to get one Dad!”
“Look at all the colours, how can you not love them Dad?”

No concern about the hardware specs, any limitations, the software or even what Dad wants. According to my kids, “they just look awesome”! How could you not want one?

The moral of the Apple “marketing strategy”, keep it simple and give people what they want. It’s amazing what a can of paint can do to change someone’s opinion. Maybe I’ll just build myself another MS-DOS Gaming box. I just can’t win! For a recap of the event, please watch this video from @MKBHD below:
