My Anticipation for ATARI’s Return to Canada

The Atari 2600 is a home video game console developed and produced by Atari, Inc.So, I got an ATARI 2600+!

Yes, the ATARI renaissance bug got me and now I’m seeking out the elusive ATARI VCS. The new version, released back in 2020 or 2021 I believe? Yes, this is my struggle of attempting to secure an ATARI VCS in the Great White North – Canada, through the proper channels, direct from ATARI.

It’s almost poetic, really. As the rest of the U.S, and maybe others on the planet, unbox their futuristic relic, us Canadians are left pondering whether our maple syrup causing an interference in the shipping process? Yes, just a bit of sarcasm but we are not that far from the U.S border.  Just saying!

Retro Gaming Nostalgia

It’s heartwarming to know that in this age of instant gratification, ATARI has managed to revive the lost art of anticipation. It seems like ATARI has stumbled upon a secret formula for scarcity – a modern twist to keep us all on our toes. While the rest of the world embraces the future (past) of gaming, Canada gets to savour the sweet taste of nostalgia as we reminisce about the glory days of the ATARI 2600 (of course my preference was the 7800). I feel like ATARI is playing a game of “Catch me if you can” with my emotions and fans in Canada.

Channelling my inner Canadian General Zod!

ATARI is the Ultimate Brand

To me ATARI is not just a brand; it’s a beacon of retro gaming hope (help me ATARI you’re my only hope). Sure, we may have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on the elusive VCS, which I hope is not forever. But isn’t delayed gratification the key to true happiness?

For now, I raise a toast to ATARI – the unsung hero of gaming’s past, present, and future. May your shipping delays, and present avoidance of Canada, be as legendary as your pixel adventures.
